    Pikeville Medical Center (PMC) selected Stengel Hill Architecture (SHA) to provide Programming, Planning, Design, and Construction Administration Services for this ten-story, 218,000 SF Hospital Expansion and nine-level, 354,000 SF Parking Garage Project in Pikeville, Kentucky. The Hospital Expansion provides the space required to address the organization’s immediate needs in Outpatient Surgery, Gastrointestinal Services, and on-campus Physician Practices as well as Shell Space for future growth.

    The Project was funded through the USDA as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. SHA played an integral role in assisting the Hospital navigate the USDA Requirements to ensure the design, bidding and construction processes were in compliance with the Federal Regulations.

    The Project will be submitted for LEED Certification (Silver Rating anticipated) and includes energy conscious design features such as a complete Geothermal HVAC System, Natural Day-Lighting, Energy-Efficient Exterior Envelope Design, and Solar-Reflective Roofing, among others.
